Hi peeps!
Thought I'd introduce myself. I am a mother of 2, of Dutch origin, living in the UK. After splitting from the father of my children some 3 years ago my weight has steadily ballooned.
It started well before we split, due to us not doing stuff as a couple. Living in the UK meant that I had no-one to turn to (my family and friends all living in Holland), so I spent most of my nights in front of the tv with a bottle of vodka, followed inevitably by an extended munch-session!
This continued and worsened after the split, but now I have had enough of all this self-pity and something needs to be done!!
I am desperate to find an exercise partner in my area (someone to kick me up the back-side, when needed), but I'm not putting this up as an excuse anymore and have started a diet today.
The alternative day diet looks appealing (and do-able), so this is my first (up) day, hopefully being able to put a ticker on here in a few weeks. I am going home to Holland with my kids tomorrow, for a wedding and 'Sinterklaas' celebrations, but am determined to start regular swimming-sessions after I come back to aid the slimming process...!!

Just got back, and alas, didn't start the diet (too many yummy goodies at my folks' house lol!!), but today is day 1!!
