Hello!

Hi, all!

My name is Dave (obviously from Atlanta) and I just joined a couple of days ago. About 3 years ago, I weight 300+ lbs and was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. That jarred me into action and, since then, I've lost over 100 lbs. I sure wish I'd known about 3fatchicks.com sooner because I could have really used the support!

I still would like to lose about 20 more pounds to get to my goal weight. I've been eating clean and lifting weights since I started but haven't really been eating at a caloric deficit to prevent muscle loss. Now, though, I feel my willpower waning and in need of some motivation.

In the interest of disclosure, I want to let you know that I do have a fitness and nutrition blog and I also write a weight loss column for another national site. However, I'm not here to promote either of these.

I am here to learn, support, and give advice if anybody wants it.

Thanks!

Dave

:wel3fc: Hi Dave!
Glad to have you join us! There are lots & lots of different groups and forums - I'm sure you'll find some that will keep you motivated, inspired and entertained!

There are lots of people here with more to lose and lots with less - the bottom line is that we all have to do it a day at a time. The good thing is that we'll have lots of company along the way.

I've only been here a short time myself, having NEVER been part of an online forum. What has been so eye-opening is how much it has helped me. Whenever I feel overwhelmed or defeated, I just log on and read some of the success stories, complete with their before & after photos - or read about others still dealing day to day with their challenges - and before I know it, the time has flown by and so have all the thoughts of cheating or giving up.

WOW, Dave! Congrats on the 100 lb loss - your goal is just around the corner - I'm sure you'll be able to give us lot of tips and motivation through your story - I look forward to it!

So welcome aboard - join in by inspiring us and being inspired!
