Feeling miserable

Hi to anyone reading....

I quit smoking in August and I know one of the side effects is weight gain. Well I am the poster child for that!!. I have gained so much weight and am desperate to lose it and looking for some support. I am 47 yrs old, 5'7, and 163 pounds. I was 143 pounds approx a year ago. I lost weight before on the LA Weightloss program. I was on the GOLD plan and have looked up on this forum all the meal planning that I had followed before.

Anyway, I just wanted to introduce myself. I guess 1/2 of this is like quitting the butts. I need to stop romancing FOOD....

Good Luck to all!!

Karen

Welcome to 3FC and good luck with your goals.

Weight gain is not always a side effect of quitting smoking, I quit a year ago and didn't gain from it ;)

Hugs
Michelle

:wel3fc: Hi Karen!
Glad to have you join us! There are lots & lots of different groups and forums - I'm sure you'll find some that will keep you motivated, inspired and entertained!

There are lots of people here with more to lose and lots with less - the bottom line is that we all have to do it a day at a time. The good thing is that we'll have lots of company along the way.

I've only been here a few weeks myself, having NEVER been part of an online forum. What has been so eye-opening is how much it has helped me. Whenever I feel overwhelmed or defeated, I just log on and read some of the success stories, complete with their before & after photos - or read about others still dealing day to day with their challenges - and before I know it, the time has flown by and so have all the thoughts of cheating or giving up.

So welcome aboard - join in by inspiring us and being inspired!

Heya iwant2wayless! First let me say GRATS on quitting smoking...what a major accomplishment...your already on your way to a healthier you ;) Since I've started my healthy eating I now find I need to 'quit' smoking. I want to not be so out of breath when I exercise and various other obvious reasons that people stop smoking for.

You've come to the right place for support...the folks here are wonderful! Best of luck to you on your new journey and I look forward to getting to know you
