Midwestern Newbie saying "hi"

Hi there......part of a couple that started doing SB approx 4 weeks ago. Both at around 14 pounds of weight loss so far. Both wanted to lose a bit of weight, and improve our lifestyle, while lowering cholesterol, blood sugar, etc. We both have family histories of heart problems, diabetes and cancer. We are trying to decrease our chances of that occuring.

Good luck to everyone else doing SB. Hoping that I am able to get a lot of good, useful advice on here.

Also, looking to chat with anyone (yahoo IM) out there struggling with breaking habits, and who has struggled with emotional/comfort eating. That is where my bf and I differ, he just loves food and likes to eat. I eat, over eat and have in the past all out binged to fill whatever was going wrong in my life at the time. So if there is anyone out there.....please feel free to give me a shout, and we can exchange info!

Thanks,

OB nurse

Hi OB nurse ... I'm a newbie too. My wife and I started doing WW last week. Best of luck to you and your BF!

Thanks alot......I will definitely check out that forum. I found this site when I did a search for South beach recipes. :) Congratulations on quitting smoking, that is a goal I am hoping to start when I lose 10% of my starting body weight. Those last 3 I am down to(for the last 3 years!) have been the hardest to get rid of. Good luck!

Thank you.....and good luck to you and your wife as well. It is a lot easier to start this when you have a loved one on your side. :)

Plus then you don't have to glare at them while you eat your salad, and they are tucking into a burger or something naughty.

Good luck...keep us posted on how it is going!

thanks to all.....

for welcoming me to the forum.

Monday started great. Did my weekly weigh in and discovered I had lost another 2 pounds for a total of 16 1/2 wince starting. :carrot:

Very jazzed about this----and can't wait to you can really really start to tell all over that I am losing weight steadily. ;)

trying....

something new tonight. Going to roast an acorn squash in the oven. Getting kind of sick of the same old veggies. If that goes well, probably going to try a spaghetti squash soon. :p

Hoping all are having a great day!

Welcome and good luck on your goals, your hubby too!

And i've wanted to try Spaghetti squash myself, and let us know how the acorn squash comes out. :hungry:
