I think I'm finally ready!

For years I've been "thinking" about losing weight, but never did much about it. Last year I started counting calories and keeping a food journal and went from 193 to 173 in two months with no exercise, but then I got side tracked and stopped watching what I ate. That was a year ago and I'm ready to try again. I want to be healthy. I joined a gym about a month ago and I'm trying to train for a 5K. I really, really want to be at a healthy body weight. I'm tired of feeling like I feel.

I love the support system this site provides. I've been lurking around on this site for a while, so today I decided to go ahead and be proactive! I have a tendency to think "One day when I'm thin, I'll [fill in the blank]..." but I never do anything to get thin. I tend to think in "all or nothing" terms, so it's hard for me to break goals down into steps and easy for me to throw in the towel when I get off track.

I'm feel like I just need to put it out there:
I'M READY TO GET HEALTHY, I'M READY TO TAKE THE STEPS I NEED TO TAKE IN ORDER TO REACH MY GOAL. IF I FALL OF THE TRACKS, I'LL JUST DUST MYSELF OFF AND GET RIGHT BACK ON. I'M READY TO START MY WEIGHT LOSS JOURNEY.

Wow, glitterati! You really do sound ready. Yay for you! And welcome. Posting here at least once or twice a day is one of the small steps that I'm taking and I find it's really helping me stay on track.

I also think too far in advance and I'm like darn it is going to take forever to lose that much weight... but you begin to take it one day at a time and you realize that slip isnt a death sentence and you move past the hard days. Start each day as a new day and dont stress about what you did wrong the day before.
