Hi Everyone!

Hi there!

My name's Mel, and I'm a 25 year old woman living just outside Washington DC. I'm about 5'7" and weighed in yesterday at 239lbs--down from 246 at my original weigh in one month ago today!

I've been heavy all my life, but I've always been active and am deceptively healthy for my weight. I decided that I finally need to get my fat content under control, so I joined a gym near my office and have been working with a personal trainer for about a month.

I was nervous about how expensive it will be, but I figured if I watch my pennies, I can make it happen. In years past, I'd start with the best of intentions, lose 10lbs, then either get bored or plateau, so I'd quit. The weight always came right back on. Now I have a great motivation partner to keep me going!

Glad to have found this board!

Hi Etudes...

From your stats, it looks like we are both going for about the same amount of weight loss... I started the diet at 239 and want to get down to 150 if possible. If you ever need any support, just shoot me an IM, would be more than happy to!

Good Luck!

Jeff

Thanks!

And now that I've reached my 25 posts...I can post my blog. I've been blogging my weight loss battle for the past month or so. The URL is www.lifesanetude.wordpress.com. I'd appreciate any comments/support/suggestions, if you're interested in reading!

I chose Life's An Etude for a reason. I used to be an opera singer in college, and I fell in love with the term 'etude.' In music, an etude is a full work composed for developmental purposes--the whole purpose is to get better at a skill. That's my life, in a nutshell. Everything I do is to improve! So, my life is an etude!
