Red face Friendly Hello! :)

Hi everyone! My name is Erin and I'm hoping that posting here will keep me motivated to make a change. I am nearing 20 years old and I have yet to live life to it's full potential. I am ready to start this long journey with all of you.

I promised myself to start tomorrow... Always tomorrow, always next Monday. The beginning of a new week. And if I fell off track in the middle of the week, I'd tell myself next Monday would DEFINITELY be the day. That Monday never came. And my motivation went as quickly as it came. August 1st was the day I decided to finally take care of myself. I am scared that I won't live past 30 if I do not make a change now.

I started at 327 pounds, my overall highest weight. As of 8/24 I'm currently at 315.5! Long way to go but this is the longest I've ever lasted on a diet and the most I've ever lost. My first goal is to be under 300 pounds.

Hello to all.

Hi Erin and

I, too, love carbs. What I'm finding is that if I'm ever going to get to a weight I'm happy with, we'll need to have a long distance relationship.

I lost a bunch of weight on my own (45 pounds) but it took 5 years. I was eating healthier and exercising but without a "plan" results were slow. I got back on the carbs again last fall and regained 20#.

I am now 4 months on a plan and what I am finding is I just have to stay OP no matter what. It was very hard at first but now it's second nature. Many times I would just lie in bed so I wouldn't eat.

Today, I feel much better and it is very easy to stay on track. I wish you the best. There is alot of support here. There have been many times I came here and read and posted instead of eating.

Hi there! I know exactly how u feel I've been dieting since I was about 14 and was never able to stick with it. At that time i said to myself by the time I'm 20 i'll be skinny but I never really tried that hard and if I did I gave up quickly cuz I was tired and hated that everyone was happy and skinny except me by 20 I weighd my at highest 236! I So I started eatn less walkn n all that and quit bcuz I was hungry I kept sayn I'll start a new diet monday I'll start a new diet after xmas then when I weghed myself about a year or more later I weighed 257 pounds my ultimate highest ever! I was mortified I felt so disgusted with myself.... so I started again and by some miracle by 23 I lost 45 pounds then got strep throat and was deprived from eatn anythn and went down all the way to 213 so close to 200 I hadn't been there since I was 16 I was sooo excited n said by 25 i'll be skinny but then I had family problems, a bad breakup and I felt worthless only thing I could count on was food! I went from 213 to 250 in a year that was my next challenge and I think now I'm ready to stick with this! I'm down 30 and I'm so happy sorry so long just had to vent lol good luck buddy wish u all the best! Never give up!

Hello and welcome!

I too, love my carbs... That is why I chose the calorie counting program. I have to have my penne with marinara on occasion. ;-)

Good luck with your journey and when you feel unmotivated, POST POST POST on the forum! Lots of support here as you can probably see.
