Relatively new here, and in need of support buddies!

Hi everyone!
I joined this site recently, and so far I LOVE IT! :)
What a great bunch of people! I've found lots of great information and success stories.
That being said, I have felt a little alone on my journey lately and am hoping to find a couple of email buddies for more individualized support. As my profile says, I'm 26 and my stats are 192/175/138. I'd like to find someone with a slightly similar set of goals, since it will be a little easier to relate to each other's struggles, I think.
Hope to hear from you soon! :)
Thanks for reading!

Awesome! Thanks! :)
Yeah, our current and goal weights are close! I'm excited. :)
If you don't mind my asking, how long have you given yourself to finish the rest of your weight loss? I started mine on May 12 of this year, and have decided to give myself a year, but hopefully it will come off a little faster than that. ;)

You're welcome!!

I have been on and off diets since January this year, but just been going up and down. But 2 weeks ago i made a firm decision to get really serious and no messing about!

then last week realised my digital scales were wrong and just spouted random numbers as it pleased. so i properly started again last thursday.
i haven't given myself a deadline, i will just see how long i take. but hopefully if i go by the 2lb a week loss, hoping in about 4 months. :)

so i guess Jan 2010. i'm just taking it one day at a time. and i'm enjoying it! i dont even feel like i am on a diet. I am following Paul Mckenna's 4 golden rules and the gabriel method and abit of south beach. and exercising everyday (p90x mainly).

how about yourself? whats your diet plan?

fresno26 08-22-2009 01:22 AM

Awesome! I've heard great things about p90x!
Congratulations for deciding to get serious about your weight loss. It definitely takes a lot of motivation and determination to even begin something like this.
As far as my plan, I *try* to stick to around 1,100 calories a day, and at least seven hours of exercise per week. I usually do two hours on Saturdays and then take Sundays off. :)
I'm a vegetarian, which helps.... as far as foods, I try to eat a lot of fiber and protein...fresh fruits and vegetables and whole grains. I have largely been staying away from sugar. My weakness has mainly been cereal, lol...namely the Kashi Go Lean Crunch - Honey Almond Flax variety. ;)
And as far as exercise, I have a gym membership, and usually do quite a bit of cardio on the treadmill and bike, then finish with most of the weight machines in the circuit training room. Also, as I posted in another part of the site, I ran tonight, for the first time in ages, and I barely got winded. So, I'm thinking I will start doing that a few times per week. I was amazed that I've apparently gained enough stamina to run longer than 30 seconds without passing out. lol
Thanks so much for getting in touch!
I'm heading to bed now, but I will be looking forward to talking to you more! :)
