Newbie!!!
Just wanted to say Hi to everyone! My name's Sophie, I'm 23 years old from Lancashire, UK and I started my diet on the 5th July of 09 weighing around 15 stone 8lbs (221lbs) and today i weigh exactly 14 stone (196lbs).
I've never been a skinny girl, all through high school and college I was the overweight one out of my group of friends with my weight fluctuating back and forth from 12 to 13 stone (168-182lbs)... it never slowed me down though!
Everything changed for me in May 2008 when I found out I was expecting my daughter Tabitha. I was a heavy smoker and immediately stopped when I found out I was pregnant.... which of course led to overeating! I kept telling myself... "it's fine I’m pregnant! If there is any time I can get away with being fat ,it's now!" Well on December 30th 2008, my baby girl was born and within six months of this I’d managed to put on an extra 2 and a half stone (35lbs).
I think it would be wrong of me to blame my weight gain on pregnancy. The truth is I’d become lazy in regards to food. All my energy goes on her... so I’ve been living of ready meals and take-a-ways. Not working is also a problem for me. I worked in a fast paced restaurant environment and was always running around. My body is missing this now... because I HATE exercising!
The only way I’ve managed to lose weight is by completely cutting out foods with high fat, sugar and carbs... I aim to eat around 1000 cals a day and I force myself to do half an hour of exercise in the evening. I'm vegetarian so I find myself eating mainly salad, vegetables and quorn products.
I hope I can find friends here to inspire to keep it up... and hopefully I’ll inspire them too.
