De-lurking

  • Hey everyone!

I finally decided to delurk..I've been lurking for awhile. ****, I even joined a few days ago and still continued to lurk

Im 26, soon to be 27. And I've got lots to lose. I used to look back on my life and wonder how the #!%$ I ended up like this, and how could I do that to myself, but my mindset is currently "Screw the past, things start to change NOW". Its going to take alot of work..alot of effort, alot of ups and downs, but I am not going to let this become another failed attempt.

Anyhoo..just wanted to say Hello! I just think these forums, and the people that post on them are amazing. So inspiring and motivating, even through the difficult times Im looking forward posting here alot more.
  • Hi and welcome to 3FC!

  • Congrats &

I'm a huge believer in just putting one foot in front of the other. Every day, just keep taking small steps. Eventually, you'll look back to see how far you've come. Keep focusing on the future & good luck in your journey!
  • Welcome! I lurked for a while also!!
  • Hello
  • Welcome

I'm glad you decided to come out of "lurk-dom." Make yourself at home.

Good luck to you and your goals.
  • Welcome future skinny person. All of us understand how difficult it is to take the first step to becoming a new person. It is going to mean some challenges, some temptations, and some set backs from time-to-time. There are going to be days that you hate the scale and other days the scale is your best friend. For me what has worked is to keep my food scale on my kitchen counter and weight & record everything I eat. I purchased Fitday for my computer to help me keep track of everything. No food is off limits, but I try to make my calories count nutritionally and reduce fat & sodium and increase my servings of fresh fruits and vegetables. Everyday I drink lots of water and walk 3 miles on my treadmill. I've lost an average of 11 pounds/month and 5 inches in my waist (3 months), my blood pressure has done down by 15 points and is almost normal, and my knees don't hurt anymore. Oh, the steering wheel doesn't rub my tummy when I drive and I can pull the seat up closer so my feet can reach the pedals. So be proud of what you are doing for yourself and keep a record of all of the good things you accomplish. Again, welcome and good luck!
  • Thanks for the kind welcome, everyone
