Hi!

I'm 29 (gulp, just turned!), an RN, and trying to lose 100lbs by the time I'm 30. I realized that it's never going to be any easier than it is right now to finally do this. I've yo-yo'd my weight a lot in my life (though I've been overweight/obese now for longer than I ever was a healthy weight), but want to really be a healthy role model for my almost 5 yo DD. I'm doing this the slow and steady way with a gowear fit, calorie counting, and overall healthier choices. I've lost 10.4 pounds since I've started 5 weeks ago and am very excited to continue this pattern of loss.

Happy birthday, and yes! It will never be easier than it is now. Trust me, I'm 53 and it is sloooowww going when you get older. Good luck to you, you are off to a great start! :)

:welcome2: hi zea_mays. congrats on your weight loss so far, and I think you're onto something very important -- continuing the changes you're making because the key to losing weight and keeping it off - in my experience, and several others on 3fc - is to make permanent changes that you can maintain for the rest of your life.

Needing to lose 100 lbs is hard, but you can do it. And you can keep it off if you understand that this is not a temporary thing -- and I'm sure you do if you want to be the best for your daughter :)

PS. RNs are the best. They actually run the world... er maybe the entire healthcare system. My dad is an RN. Kudos to you.
