Hi! :)

  • Wow there's a lot of intros here!
I've been a non-active lurker here since January, I actually thought I'd posted before now but I can't seem to find any - so here's my introduction

My name's Emma, I'm 17, vegetarian and I live in the UK. I came on here this morning because I was prescribed Xenical yesterday and I wanted to have a nosy to see if anyone had any recommended recipes or advice to avoid the dreaded side effects(!), but having spent some time searching the board looks amazing and I wanted to post my introduction

I was a weight watchers member for a few months and I found that the diet helped me, I just find it difficult to attend the meetings because I have confidence issues. So this time I'm hoping to follow the weight watchers system with the Xenical. Fingers crossed

I need to lose just over 150lbs to get to my goal weight.
I'm hoping to train as a nurse in 2 years time, so hopefully over the next 2 years I can lose enough weight to feel confident enough to do so

Erm...What else can I say? :P I love singing, reading, and I loveee makeup. I just finished a makeup course at college and I've really enjoyed learning about the different looks and things you can create with it.
I'm a music geek too, I love musicals! I'm one of those annoying people with music on 24/7.

I don't know what else to say but feel free to prompt me if I've missed anything
  • Hi Emma and welcome

Come and join us on the UK forum

I needed to lose just over 150lb too - nearly half way there now This place is very supportive so keep reading and posting.
  • Hi Emma and welcome to 3FC!

    Hugs
    Michelle
  • Thank you!

I'm heading over to the UK forum now.
Congrats to both of you on your weight loss!
  • Hi Emma! Welcome from Lurkville!
  • Hello from Montana, and welcome to 3FC!
  • Hey Emma - I'm one of those people with music always on too. My college roomies used to make fun of me for it. I dont think it drowns out my thoughts, just helps me relax. I love makeup too - mostly MAC and Stila, and I'm recently rediscovering my stash at a lower weight, with contacts (lots of eye makeup FUN!!)

I had a lot to lose when I first started too. It was so overwhelming. My suggestion is to break it into small attainable goals.. 10 pounds... or 10% of your highest weight can make a huge difference to your health Keep in touch - maybe check out the 20-somethings forum? We'd love to have ya!
  • Thanks so much for the welcomes, and thankyou valpal for the advice! I managed to lose 5% of my body weight when I joined WW which felt amazing, just gotta get to 10%...then 15... and so on. I'll get there! You look great in your photo
I'm not quite 20, eek haha but I'll check it out
& Omgg don't get me started on eye makeup haha every penny I have goes on eyeshadow! I wish I could afford more MAC, I loveee it, but I'm really bad at saving money so I have to make do with cheapo stuff most of the time. I got a palette off Ebay for about £15 (it's called Manly, who named that?!), it's amazing though

Do you have a favourite mac colour? I know that's random but I'm always curious!

    Thanks again
