Yet another introduction!

Hello all :)

I've been lurking for a bit. As you can see (I hope?)...I need to lose about 100lb. So I guess I know which bit of the forum I'll be hanging out on!

I've been heavy all my life. It's so hard to "imagine" what I'll look like when I'm down to my target weight. But the long hard slog - the amount of time it will take - is a big obstacle for me. I guess I'm easily discouraged. I hope to find people here who will help me keep going each day :)

I look at my weight loss as a lifelong journey and I will NEVER be able to eat everything I want in whatever quantity I want and still be healthy. We have to make choices in our lives and for me I want to live a long, productive, active, and healthy life. I can't be healthy if I'm obese and I will die prematurely from heart disease or a stroke. You must commit to a new and healthy eating pattern. For most of us this means lots of fresh fruits and vegetables, reduced fat, and smaller portions. To keep our metabolism up, we need to eat smaller meals, but more frequently. We all have faith in your power to help yourself.
