Motivation PLEASE stay with me...
I'm new to this message board and not really used to talking about my weight problems. I'm not sure if this will help me or not but I'm willing to give it a try.
I'm 31 years old. I've dealt with being overweight my whole life. I've always been what I call a yo-yo. I'd lose weight and be happy for awhile (of course I was still overweight by most standards) and then the weight would creep on back. This time around I came close to gaining it all back. (the highest I've ever been is 235) I took awhile to do something about it because there is always that stage I go through first. It's called depression. You know, the stage where you know you are fat and you lay around all day and almost magically gain another 10-15 pounds before you get off your butt and do something about it. At least that's how it is for me. I think I got a good plan this time though. I got a membership to a gym. My best friend from high school was just in town visiting her family and took me to work out with her. She's a physical trainer where she lives. Man, she worked me good! I got a good routine I can do now 3 times a week for 4-6 weeks and then change it up a bit to keep my body challenged. Not that that should be a problem. I can't begin to tell you how sore my first workout made me! That's all I got for now. I'm looking forward to reading what others have wrote. Heaja13 |

Heaja13,
I am new to message boards as well. I am also 31 and have been yo-yo dieting on and off since I was gosh, 13. My weight is at an all time high and I am frustrated and mad at myself. I am about 30 pounds overweight. My husband and I are looking to start a family and I am so excited about that journey but upset about gaining even more weight. I am great about exercising but seem to start a diet every Monday. I need some motivational tips to help me out. Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks:) |
Heaja13,
Just wanted to say hi and welcome. This is a great place, and you have made some great first steps. You have an exercise plan set, and you are here looking for support. The next step would be to get a food plan in place. What kind of plan/program are you looking for? There are many options. I see that we were in similar starting places. I am 33 now, but I was 31 and 218 pounds when I started. I took some "time off" and mantained for a while, but I am here to finish what I started. I know it can be done. And I know you can do it as well. Good luck. :carrot: |
