Why hello everyone!

Just popping in to say hello to everyone. I'm new and have been struggling to lose weight for quite a while. Successfully almost lost 10lbs so far with just eating better and minimal exercise and I'm craving to lose more. I've been overweight for most of my life and I'm looking to finally change that. I have a strong will and determination and I just want to keep it going.

I've been looking around these forums for a bit and figure I might as well join considering a lot of the people here are very friendly and may help with the motivation I may need in the future. ;)

Just figured I'd ask a question to start out... I was thinking about getting a Gazelle because of my knees. They haven't been the best to me lately, and walking at a brisk pace is making them hurt quite a bit. Just wondering on everyone experiences and if it's worth it? It looks fun and looks like something I could blast my iPod and work out with every day.

Also if you have any tips or advice for someone who is essentially starting out, feel free!

Hi obnoxious!

When I started my knees were killing me with the walking/running - someone suggested seated stationary bicycle or seated row machine and both worked very well for not killing my knees/legs until I was a bit stronger....

I actually started with a Gazelle. I liked it. I'm not fond of repetitive (boring) exercise, and have since moved on to DVDs, but it IS easy on the knees and a good workout!

If you were near MI, I would give you mine. I don't use it any more ;)

How much would it cost to ship? ;) LOL

And thank you all for the nice warm welcome! It means a lot!
