New From Florida
Hi everyone, my name is Share, and I just turned 24 this month. I've always been overweight, when I was younger I was between 20 and 24, depending on the clothes. However, I inadvertently dropped down to a size 16 a few years ago. I'm still not quite sure how I did that.
Now at as a size 16, I am more than ready to shed some dress sizes to get down to at least a size 10 or 8. Given the fact that I am very tall, slightly under 6ft, and big boned. I feel this will be a good size for me. I absolutely hate scales, and I will not step on one. Not because I am afraid, but it has never been a true and accurate measure for my body. Clothes and body shape have always been the best way for me. I am slowly moving into cooking for myself - my family has always been big on getting fast food - that is how I was raised. I have gradually over the past few years added healthier / lower fat / calorie foods into my diet, along with being more aware of fiber and protein. I hope to learn more from you guys! |
Hi!!! :wel3fc: Good luck on your weight loss journey! :cheer2:

Welcome! I can relate to you so much! I am also a very tall girl and wear a 16 with very large hips. I know people who wear 16s and I think WOW i look way smaller than them. (not meant to sound rude) I am also shooting for a size 10. I like you refused to get on a scale for so long because I carry more weight then people that appear heavier than me, and it always made me depressed but since I have been tracking my weight with a scale it seems to have helped me tracked my progress as far as actual weight goes maybe it would help? Good luck and READ everything. I have learned sooo much from everyone here and i love it.

I feel like I could have written your bio! The reason why I don't like scales is that I also carry more weight than it looks. But last night I made the decision to keep track on the scale, only because if I am going to do this, I want to be able to give people a number on how much I lost. It really sucks when I see someone who is much larger than me, weighing like 40 lbs less than me, it's like WTF? Do you mind me asking what area of Jax you are in? |
Trust me I know the feeling I have always struggled with my weight even when I was little. I played soccer with a group of my kids from school and I lied on my weight for my picture card so I would be more around everyone else even though I was very thin as a child. I live on the Northside near the airport.
