Ok, I'm gonna take the first step and admit I have a problem...
I used to watch Inside Brookhaven and wonder "How could they not notice before it got to that point?" But, I've done the same thing. I ignored the tight pants, the unflattering pics, and even the scale. But when I came across the instruction manual for my scale and re-discovered it measured body fat, I was in for an unpleasant surprise.
I'm 37, I'm 5'5", and I weigh 156.6. My 35% body fat puts me in the "obese" category. And that's really not where I wanna be. So I'm going to have to find ways to move more and eat less. Possible obstacles: a shoulder injury that sometimes makes exercise uncomfortable (but not impossible!), a fondness for food, a tendency to be lazy, a boyfriend who cooks, and a heat index of over 100 in this hot 'n' humid town! This looks like a really good place to start. I'm hoping to get down to 25% body fat, which I think will put me at about 140. Looking at the numbers, it's not much, but... |
Hey there! :wel3fc:
I have great news for you. I am fond of food, and I've had several injuries to work around....but you found 3FC! And 3FC is what has gotten me through all of those obstacles, and more. Do you have a plan you're following? Are you considering strength training as part of your exercise plan? You may want to check out our "Featherweights" forum, for those who are starting at weights relatively close to goal...it presents some unique challenges and it's nice to be able to talk to those in the same situation. Can't wait to get to know you better - :wel3fc: |
I've tried WW about a year ago, but I gained most of the weight in the past 8 months or so, after I quit. I'd actually lost weight over the Thanksgiving weekend while I was still enrolled.
I will definitely check out Featherweights, and I definitely want to do more strength training. I did some dumbbells after the fateful body fat reading, but I think I need to make use of the weight machine that's been collecting dust since my son moved away from home. Thanks very much for the welcome! |
