Hello, I'm new!
Hi there! I'm Michelle, a 24-year-old student from TN (soon to be Missouri). I am trying to get my act together and lose some weight... I have had a few difficult events in the recent past (the dissolution of my engagement being one of them, plus the move in a few months) and my diet has yet again gone by the wayside. I think since the engagement ended, I have gained 10-20 lbs. (That is in addition to the weight I've gained since age 14... close to 100 lbs, due to a medication prescribed to me, plus other issues I won't get into right now.) Anyhoo, I have many reasons I want to lose the extra poundage: health, feeling attractive, having others perceive me as attractive, and also, to be able to hike and venture into the wilderness again. I got bit by the hiking/backpacking bug young, and I would LOVE to get back out there again. (I tried a little during my last year of college, with not-so-successful results. It's rather disheartening. :( ) (Aaaand... I like to talk a lot. :D) I can't wait to meet all of you and talk some more! :) Michelle |

Hi all, Thanks for the warm welcome. I am finally figuring out the HTML code for this message board, yay! Savora... Good to meet you, and the best of luck to you in your endeavors! I am moving to St Charles, MO, 30 miles to the west of St Louis. My parents live there, and I will be staying with them while I do the remaining coursework for my degrees. (Which will be a lot... 3-4 years worth, and living with them cuts down on costs. :) ) It's a nice town... lots of places to walk and be outside (which is a must for me) and a historic downtown area with a trail on the river. So, I'm excited, but a little sad and nervous as well. Glad to meet you two as well, ShrinkingLeah and CountingDown. Everyone is so friendly here... which is a pleasant change from many online communities I've been in. I guess I will see you guys around on the board, and look forward to sharing this experience with all of you. Michelle |
Oops! A Clarification...
Should clarify before it starts to sound weird... I already have one degree, a BA in English. I'm returning to college to get dual BS-es, in Biology and Psychology.
Just thought I'd clarify. :) MB |
Welcome!!! Be sure to check out the 20 something forum! I'm glad you are here!
