Starting over......again

  • Hello everyone! I am just starting on this weight loss journey for the 3rd time in my life. This site is hopefully going to give the motivation needed to stick with this for good. I need a "push" some days! My first weight loss at 27 was 85 pounds in 8 months and done by aerobics daily. Slinging the arms around and hopping all over isn't much an option at this age!! LOL The second weight loss was 49 pounds in 6 months using weight watchers and working in a factory. This time I am combining the knowledge I have from the past. Keeping points low in foods and walking or low impact workout tape. This was begun April 2 and so far the loss is 4.2 pounds. Thanks for any advice or inspiration in advance!
  • Glad you found us. You CAN do this. A couple things that work for me:
    1. Journal everything - and analyze your data when things stall.
    2. Consider this a journey - don't worry about how long it takes - just take it one decision at a time.
    3. Consider it a lifestyle change. Don't do anything you can't sustain forever.

You have a good plan - eating right and exercising moderately works. I'm a calorie counter, but the principals are the same.

I look forward to reading of your progress
  • Hi and welcome!

Many, many successful losers will tell you it took a few attempts before they finally 'got' it. I think you learn stuff every time, stuff you never forget.

Make yourself at home. We're glad you're here.
