Hi and welcome!

You've come to the right place. We won't be standing for any of that commercial stuff!! But we will support you in healthy choices.

Have you chosen and eating plan? What do you like to do for activity?

Welcome, welcome! Glad to have you here.

I've been working on the simplest solution I can think of...The complicated programs dont work, I've REALLY tried, they dont.

I've been having my larger meals in the morning and afternoon and some soup or something small for dinner. Because the weather doesnt always play along in Scotland we tend to be less active in the evening, so there's NO point in eating a large meal in the evening and letting it collect around the Ar*e area...:)

I use my wii fit every day and I cycle up to 3 times a week. Its only been about 5 weeks but I've dropped off 6kgs. About 13lbs or so...Slow but its happening. My underactive thyroid AINT working with me, but I'm on the right meds and all in all, I dont think I'm doing too badly!

All I want for Christmas is to be a size 12-14...being a size 18 is just not ME!!!

You're doing fabulously well!

I wish everyone was as into increased activity as you are.

BTW ... that's not slow at all!

I've tried extreme calorie cutting and the usual bunch of starvation diets...they didnt help...my metabolism just dropped though the floor and the weight loss was confined to water loss...USELESS...For me anyway...People's bodies respond differently.

The only thing thats ever worked was physical activity and realistic goals and expectations. But I've been feeling a bit less than motivated this week...so here I am! :)

Welcome! Check out the UK subforum. Also, we've been known to have some cycling threads in the Exercise forum....maybe now that there's another cyclist here we can resuscitate them!

Glad you're here!

welcome!

Hey - have you read the blog/book of Dietgirl? She lost 175 pounds and now lives in Scotland. She moved there from Australia, though. I thought her book was awesome. I wish I knew about her blog years ago.

Welcome!
