No more excuses!

Hi everyone! I'm Dani from Kentucky. I've been trying to lose weight for roughly 3 years. I got down to 146 at one point, but I never can keep it off. I love the gym, but I usually slack off on going. I just feel as though I never had the motivation.

Not any longer.

Something happened that snapped me to attention.
I work at a retail pharmacy. People MY AGE (I'm in college.) are taking high blood pressure and high cholesterol medication. Most of them are pre-diabetics. I know I'm going in that direction.
What really hit me the most was when an old high school friend told me he has high blood pressure and liver problems due to his weight. He's younger than I am.

I just can't risk it any longer. It's not just about the weight. It's about getting healthy for me. (Although, fitting into some cute skinny jeans wouldn't be too bad! ;) ) I found 3FC on a google search and it seems like a great place for support. I need you ladies and guys to keep my butt on track!

-Dani :)

First of all for your weight and height I would guess you are in a healthy range for BMI>I dont think there is anything wrong with trying to get healthy but be kinder to yourself. You really are not at that high of a risk based on weight unless you are eating high fat foods and live a sedentary lifestyle.I think you will be fine.Good look.

Thanks harrismm! I thought about how how that sounds to people who don't know me after I posted it. It sounds like I'm a complete perfectionist. Sorry!

I used to be a health nut. I ate veggies and fruits like they were going out of style. I went to the gym in the morning and played tennis with the girls at night. Then I went to college, got a job, and blah, blah, blah. I've been trying to get back to that for about 3 years. I've just been going down hill. I know I'm headed to obesity if I don't reign in my habits. Luckily, my height and fast metabolism doesn't show my weight all that much. ;)

Don't eat hight fat food. Here I have a good way to help you lose your weight. The good way is fast walking in the evening, walking about 1 hour. It really work on me. Good luck!http://photo-collection.co.cc/img/31...yc/biggrin.gif

Hi Dani and welcome to 3FC.

There is no doubt that incidents of 'age related disorders' are increasing amongst younger and younger members of the population. It's never too early to start thinking about life long good health. And I applaud your acknowledgement of the fact that you've slidden off the track now. You didn't wait until you were well and truly overweight. Good on you!

It's sometimes very difficult to explain that you simply want to be healthier. It's all about weight loss lately. Seriously ... would you have tuned in to a website called '3 Chicks Who Aim to Lower their Cholesterol'?

I think getting back on track will help you feel better, look better and enjoy better health.
Please, make yourself at home here at 3FC. We're glad you're here.
