someone else new!

I've been meaning to do this for a couple of days now but am only just getting around to it. But hi! I'm Lexie, I'm a 19-year-old college sophomore, and yes, I need to lose some weight.

I've never been a yo-yo dieter even though I've been uncomfortable with my weight since I was about 12 (although it only really got bad after a series of ankle & knee injuries which eventually caused me to quit figure skating). Last summer was the first time I really actively tried to shape up-- I started counting calories, swam a lot, even started running-- and ended up going from 188 to 169, which felt fabulous, but I fell off the wagon once school started. I maintained at ~172 until the holidays, but since then I've crept back up to 184. ANYWAY: I'm recommitting. This time I really want to lose ALL of the weight I don't want. And I think one way to keep myself accountable is to actually post & participate in this kind of forum, rather than just lurking around about 8 like I usually would.

Anyway! I'm lucky in that I already know what works for me, but this time around I'd really like to incorporate some strength training in and learn more about actual cooking (my mother has always been a fabulous vegetarian/healthy cook and I sat back and benefited rather than learning from her :^:). Anyway, I'm looking forward to getting to know all of you!

Hi and welcome Lexie!

Yes, you are responsible for you. Smart thinking!

However ... we're here to hold you up. Make yourself at home.
