New here from Denmark

Hi, I'm Henrik

Not exactly a Fat Chick - but with 20 kilo overweight and man-boobs I might just fit in anyway ;)

My story so far is that I've gone from 110 kg to 100 kg since January 2009 and the goal is to lose another 20 kg.

I used to bet fit and with a metabolism of a steamtrain, but 15 years of inactivity and poor eating habits bounced me from 80 kg to 110 kg.

Last week I set foot in a gym for the very first time in my life and I can't say I look anything like the other people there- but that will come.

Looking forward to joining this community and helping out whereever I can

Hi Henrik, it sounds like you've made a great start. The exercise will speed your metabolism back up, so good for you for hitting the gym! You'll be back at the weight you want to be before you know it. Keep it up!

Thanks for the welcome messages.

A bit more info about me:

This February I had a physical checkup that had the following results:

BMI

BMI: 32,4

That’s Obese no matter where you look. And I definately don’t have a muscle-filled body that would artificially inflate my BMI - simply put, I’m overweight, fat, obese and my health is at risk.

I’m in the worst bracket on the chart I’ve got.

Belly circumference

Belly circumference: 110 cm

The chart I’m looking at puts me in the group of hish risk of cardiovascular disseases since I’m wider than 102 cm - and I would have to be slimmer than 94 cm to be in the Low risk of cardiovascular dissease.

I’m in the worst bracket on the chart I’ve got.

Body Fat Percentage

Body Fat Percentage: 28,9%

The chart I got lists me as Significantly Elevated

I’m in the worst bracket on the chart I’ve got.

Blood Pressure

Systolic BP: 122 mmHg
Diastolic BP: 76 mmHg

That’s Normal, bordering Optimal

So, finally, a measurement that I shouldn’t worry about.

Cholesterol

Total cholesterol: 6,8 mmol/l
HDL cholesterol: 0,9 mmol/l
LDL cholesterol: 4,6 mmol/l

Total cholesterol is Moderately Elevated

HDL cholesterol and LDL cholesterol was oddly enough not listed with any rankings except that HDL cholesterol should be above 1 (which it isn’t) and LDL cholesterol should be below 3 which is definitely isn’t.

Triglycerides

Triglycerides: 2,8 mmol/l

A triglyceride level above 3 is considered Moderately Elevated on the chart I got - and it needs to be less than 1,7 mmol/l to become Ideal.

Blood sugar

Blood sugar: 5,6 mmol/l

Normal levels is between 4 and 6,1, so my fasting blood sugar is right where it should be.

VO2Max

VO2Max: 30,5 ml/kg/min

According to my chart my VO2Max is Very Low

So everything except for my blood pressure and my blood sugar level is in a bad bad shape.

Never fear some of our guys will no doubt find you soon and, in the meantime, :wel3fc: You may not be a 'chick' in the vernacular sense but in the sense that a "chick" is a baby of the chicken species a fledgling just starting out, regardless of gender. . . you fit right in . . . glad to have you with us.

Congratulations on your loss so far. :high:
