Re-Introduction

Hi Ladies (and gentlemen):

I joined 3FC last year and haven't been on since Nov 08 and I wanted to re-introduce myself and share my story.

Have any of you just felt so hopeless you are to a point where you KNOW something needs to be done? Not just because you want to lose some weight but because it is life threatening?

I went to my Dr. recently and I could not believe the number that was on the scale. I have reached the highest I have ever been. When the nurse wrote down 290 lbs on my chart, I thought I was going to fall because my heart dropped down to my stomach. My Dr told me that the time has come and I NEED to do something. He and I talked for awhile and he told me his story of being obese and how he changed some old habits and his weight started coming off.

A light bulb went off in my head when I was reading someones story and they finally got their health and weight under control after being on this earth 60 years. I thought for sure the author was talking about me until she mentioned her age. I started crying right then and there because I do not want to be 60 and finally getting my health under control, that is if I live that long.

I don't want to diet anymore. I do not have the strength for it. I want to be healthy. I want to have a normal BMI, not have to take medicine, I want to walk my dog and not be out of breath.

Anyways, thanks for letting me ramble, which im sure this introduction sounds like.

I hope to meet and talk with many of you and find support.

Angela

Justwant2Bhealthy: Thank you for the welcome back. I know this time is different because I need to do this to stay healthy and ALIVE. This isn't about dress size anymore.
I have been on the site all morning and have found some fantastic threads.

Hi Angela and welcome back. My story is similar to yours with health concerns and I know this is it. I too am at my highest weight ever and need to change because my life is on the line. I have a boy I need to be here for and no one can take care of my baby like me. So here's to a new beginning!

I do know how you feel. My doctor has been needling me and I just had my cholesterol evaluated in December. My bad is too high. My good is just right. Thankfully, my sugar is just fine. So, I must change my eating habits and I must exercise.
