New here, re-commiting myself

Hi everyone! I just found this website a few days ago, and every bit of it has been inspiring! I just want to introduce myself so I can officially become a part of the community. :)

I'm 17 years old (18 next month). I have a boyfriend of 3 1/2 years, and he's such a big help in this. He keeps me motivated when it's so easy to give up.
I'm starting college this fall, which is a big reason why I'm trying to lose weight. I want to have a new body for this new phase in my life. I like having curves, but I've let my weight get completely out of hand and I'm not happy with how much I weigh right now.
I've been trying to lose weight since this time last year, but for the past few months I've been pretty passive about it. I stopped exercising regularly and started eating whatever I felt like. And for some reason I kept getting on the scale like my behavior would have changed anything. But I've decided once and for all that I'm going to lose weight no matter what.
My highest weight was February 2008 when I was 370 lbs. So since then I've lost 55lbs, which feels pretty great. I'd never lost much weight in my life before this point, I had only ever gained. I didn't think it was possible.

I just re-committed myself a few days ago. It's kinda funny though, I just caught the stomach bug a few days ago, so I've lost 10 lbs. :P Not that I had any part of that, but it's still pretty nice. This is the first time the scales have said 315 since early 2007.
I'm still coming down from being sick, so all my stomach can handle right now is jello snack packs. Hopefully this will be over soon so I can get back to finding new recipes. :P

Congratulations on the great loss already - and I hope you're feeling better soon. I'm recovering from food poisoning myself, only lost 3.5lbs with it tho!!!!! :D

Have you decided how you're going to lose this next bunch of weight? And how did you lose the 55?

Welcome to 3FC! Surf around and settle in! We have subforums based on age, eating plan, exercise and more!

Check out the 20 something subforum (we don't card at the door!)---lots of college kids there. Also the 300 club and the 100 lb Club have lots of great support!

Thanks guys! Sorry I haven't been able to write back yet, my power's been off. :/

The 55 lbs actually came off relatively easy, I didn't really have to restrict my diet much, I just had to exercise. That's definitely my biggest problem, I don't get enough exercise. I'm already out of high school, but not yet in college and I don't have a job anymore, so I'm just hanging around the house all day.
That's a big part of the reason I lost weight actually. This time last year my family moved to the country so I started getting outside more often. But then winter came, and I stopped going outside as much. It's still pretty cold here, so I've been trying to think of exercises to do indoors. We don't have any exercise equipment. I was doing yoga and belly dancing, which was pretty fun, but what I like about going outside and just walking is that I don't have to concentrate on it; yoga and belly dancing require me to pay attention to what I'm doing.

So I don't expect this next batch of weight to be hard to lose as long as I stick to exercising. I'm relying a little more on my diet now though, so that should definitely help. My stomach still can't handle much, but I just bought a 12 pack of sugar free jello snack packs with 10 calories each, so I'm set for a while. :D Right now I'm just counting calories and trying to stay around 2000 a day, but I'm open to suggestion, I don't have much clue what I'm doing just yet.

So to sum it all up, my goal is 250lbs by the middle of my first quarter in college (around October or November), and my minigoal is below 300lbs by the end of April. :)
