A big hello, from Edmonton...
 

Hi there...

Just wanted to introduce myself, my name's Jen, I'm from Edmonton, AB. I just stumbled across this site the other day and from what I've seen it's incredible awesome! It has an amazing online support system, it's unreal.
A little bit about me..hm..I'm 23(almost 24) and weight 217lbs. I have a 17 month old daughter..and I'm doing this in large part, for her. But most of all, so I can be genuinely happy with myself instead of faking a smile most of the time.
So yeah...Just wanted to say hi...I'm beginning my weight loss journey now, have signed up for a gym membership,(which I plan to use this time around) quit smoking, and have a fridge full of healthy stuff.
I'm sure I will need a lot of help along the way and it seems this can be the place to turn.
I look forward to figuring out the rest of this site.
And congrats to everyone losing weight, I have looked at some of the before/after pics, they're freakin' amazing.

Congratulations on quitting smoking!

We have a number of forums to check out...forums by eating plan (whole foods-type plans, calorie counting, etc), by age range (like the 20-somethings)...we even have a "Canadian Chicks" forum. So look around! You're sure to find a spot where you're a perfect fit.

Then just jump on in and get to posting.
