Happy Rainyday!

  • Hello everyone! I've been lurking for a while, but I finally registered today! I've gotten to be quite an expert at losing a TON of weight, unfortunately, I'm also good at finding it again!

This is my third time around with about 100 pounds to lose. The last time was 12 years ago, and having lost 130 pounds, I actually kept it off for close to seven years, but the past three have been downhill, and I'm back up to ... well.. alot!

I was hesitent about joining because I'm not weighing myself regularly. I do step on the scale maybe once every couple of months but I have scale issues.. lol. The number either gives me wings or drags me to the depths of ****, and well... I don't need either emotion! I have done better this way. I have a whole set of jeans from size 26 to size 10 in my closet, so I'm using them to judge my progress. So far, I'm comfy in the 22's and squeeeezed into the 20's.

I really need to do this as a lifestyle change this time. I know its bad for my health, and I'm not getting any younger (soon to be 42!). I have two kids in college, and a great job! I know exactly what I need to do.. eat less, move more, and I'm feeling good about my non-plan, plan. I've done everything from weight watchers, to slim fast, to starving, to maniacal exercise, and scary pills. I find keeping focus on my goals is really the magic behind every time I've been successful. Once I lose focus, it goes bad fast. So that's why I'm here. A place to come to meet like-minded people and keep my motivation and focus in the right place.

    phew.. wow that's long-apologies!
  • Hey Tassia - ...and no more apologizing!

Have you seen our 40-somethings forum yet? You also might want to check out the 100 lb club, a wonderful group for those on their way to losing or who have lost 100 lbs or more...check it out!

"Eat Less, Move More" is the basis of many of our plans. Are you counting/monitoring intake, or just focusing on there being more of the exercise and less food?

Look around, find a spot, settle in, and get to posting. Can't wait to get to know you better!
