Einstein's definition of insanity

  • Hi everyone. Every new year I start out hopeful and motivated to change. It's only February, but I'm already discouraged. New year, but same old me. Joined the gym in December when my 16 year old son joined. They offered an intro hour with a personal trainer. That was the last time I went (At least my son has been doing much better). Albert Einstein defined Insanity as: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. It's time for me to stop the insanity and try something different. I'm here looking for motivation and support. Wish me luck.
  • laura,
I'm new also...but this is how I feel...I always start out with the best intentions and then somehow I just drift into doing nothing. I'm hoping to stay motivated with the support of this community and if you want to be buddies we can try to keep each other motivated. Good Luck

  • Hi!
I too, am familiar with Einstein's quote. I try to gauge my life by looking back at where I was a year ago - am I in a better place or worse? In some ways, right now, I am in a better place - just got married, job is going pretty well) some ways worse - more weight, still feeling insecure - so what would Einstein say??

Anyway, I too am hoping for the support. I don't know why people repeat the same things- I know not just overweight people do, lots of people do it in many ways. I try not to be too hard on myself, you know?

Anyway, good luck on your journey! Was that personal trainer any good? Maybe you should check in with him/her again?
