I'm new and need a buddy, too!

Don't we all (need a buddy!). I'm Karen, a 40-something, wife, mom of 3, teacher and aspiring jewelry designer. I *was* fit about 5-6 years ago but got off-course and have been floundering ever since. I'm now 20-25 lbs. overweight. I work during the day and am on the computer (I have 4 websites) the rest of the night. My goals are to eat more whole foods (fruits and veggies), walk at least 3 days a week (at least 1 mile), and no eating past 8:00 pm (yes, we usually eat near that!).

I need to be accountable to someone and will also promise to be a good buddy in return. :smug:

Thanks for taking the time to read this.

Best of luck and weight loss wishes to everyone!

~ Karen

:welcome2: You've found the right place for support and you'll probably have more buddies than you know what to do with:lol: Check out all the forum categories and you'll probably find lots of groups you fit into. There's a section for 40-somethings under Support Groups and many others. Glad to have you here!

Hi Tanya! Thanks for replying to my intro. What are your goals as far as eating and exercise?

Anyway, it's nice to "meet" you. :-)

Karen

Hi Vicky,

I guess I'm not allowed to send private messages yet, so I hope you see this here.

Thanks for replying to my intro. :-) I'll be 43 in two weeks, but have younger kids (ages 10, 10 (twins), and 13). What are your food and exercise goals?

Anyway, nice to "meet" you!

~ Karen

Hi Karen,
I sent you a PM with my email address you can get a hold of me there.
I am trying to get back into walking. I used to walk 4 miles every day but stopped when my walking buddy hurt her foot. I am also trying to get on my rebounder for about 10 mins every other day.
I am trying not to eat any food that has high fructose corn syrup in it. I am steaming my food or eating it raw.
Well thats about it.
Talk with you later!

Hi all, I am jumping in too. My name is Pam and I am married, with 3 children. I work FT, my DH runs a dieserl repair shop, but with the economy things are going to well on that and the weather has been extremely cold and my overeating has picked up and I am hoping to loose 30-40lbs.

I was an active member years ago, due to pregnancy gained the wt back and have been lazy about loosing it. I have been reading alot in the weight resistance section, as I want to be in better physical shape along with the wt loss and feel it will be a great stress releiver too. I got back on the treadmill last night for 2 miles and it felt great.:carrot:

It so nice to have support here, and I look forward to getting to know you all better.
