Looking for comfort eating friends!

  • Hello everyone,

I am eating minstrels as I write this... I'm reaching the point where I think I might actually have to get my boyfriend to keep me locked up and only feed me regular balanced meals, until I lose some weight! I just seem to have noooo control at the moment.

I put on loads of weight over the last 3 years, during a period of depression. I would consider myself a lot better depression-wise, but recently I withdrew from my teacher-training course and am now boredom eating, and sitting around not exercising or even doing much at all. I'm not depressed again my any means but I am unhappy about my career and my size :-(

Just looking for some girlies who know what I'm going through, really, as all my friends are immensely lovely and supportive - but none of them are chocoholic comfort eaters!

Looking forward to getting to know you all!

  • . . . you've come to great place for lots and lots of ongoing support and I imagine you will find our UK Forum one of your favourite places.

I'm a definite chocoholic too. Something that honestly works for me (well, most of the time, anyway) is adding a spoonfull of unsweetened cocoa poweder and a little artificial sweetener to a contained of FF/SF yogurt.
  • Hi Meowee,

I'm not a huge yoghurt fan :-s but maybe I will like it better with coca mixed in! Worth a go anyway - thanks for the tip! It's lovely to meet you - thanks for the friendly welcome!

  • I am an emotional/comfort eater, too. I am trying to get over it since I put on lots of weight. I was at 256 but am currently 217. It took me awhile (SINCE NOVEMBER) to break out of the 220s since I gave up after the holidays. But I'm back on track and am putting my whole heart into it!

You'll find lots of support and amazing women here! Good luck on your journey.
  • Thanks for the encouragement!

I stopped after only 4 minstrels... I think writing on here is helping already!
