New... sort of...

  • Okay, so I've been here before. And I didn't continue. I had all the excuses in the world, but I don't anymore. Unfortunately I've been living off of cheap food (when all you have is $20 for a month you live off of a lot of ramen noodles and macaroni and cheese and other crappy prepackaged foods.) but now that I just got a nice healthy tax refund I can afford to go buy HEALTHY foods (and a new scale!)

Anyway, I'm Gretchen. I'm 26 years old, living in Michigan. I'm an infant/toddler teacher.

I'm excited to be back, and to get to know all of the people who've joined since I left! I'll be posting some more tonight, after I get back from grocery shopping

ETA: Ignore the numbers below and to the side. That's my old stuff from last time.
  • Welcome back! I'm new here & so far everyone has been really encouraging. So did you do get your groceries? That's my favorite part about starting over! Love picking out all kinds of new and healthy foods!
  • Welcome back!! It can be a challenge to eat healthy on a budget, but it is possible! Frozen veggies, eggs, and dried beans are all very economical.

    Good luck!
  • Welcome back. Glad you are here

You can go to your user cp to update your ticker and goal info.
  • Thanks guys. Yes, I did my shopping. I love how full and colorful my fridge is now

And yes, I've updated the ticker information now - I just had to get a scale so I could get the correct information. ( I put a few pounds on since I left here )
  • bad knees-don't want to be crippled in older age

I have been getting along overeating for quite a while and have even been able to maintain my weight for a few years now at 188 but lately my knees have begun to bother me and, true or not, I have been having visions of not being able to walk as I get older...........so been on a diet for about 7 days now and lost 7 pounds. I have been posting on my blog what seems to help so far but I sure relate to temptation every day to go off this diet. I don't know if I will get through a full day or not until I get through that day. 1/2 day at a time.
