new here From Indiana
Hey all. SOOO glad i found this place. I have been "shakin" since last june And have lost ( i recently gained 5 lbs back :o so i am SHAKIN again...lol )
i have went from a weight of 240 to 212......from a jeans size 24 ( being TIGHT ) to a size 18 being comfy . my goal is to eventually be at a size 12 / weight 150 and wear my dress i was married in on my anniversary "date" with my hubby :) i know you hear Shakin and think of the other shakes and diet plans.nope. not what i did. i made my own diet and made it work for me :) i drink SLIM FAST OPTIMA ( not the cans....but the powder mixed w/ skim milk ) some people dont like it but mixed well enough it tastes great and fills me up for several hours . they are 200 cal ( w/ milk ) and i drink 4 a day . breakfast-lunch-dinner-snack. i do this all week long and then on the weekends when as a family we go out and about i eat "normal food" ...i just watch what i eat & drink VERY carefully. oh , i drink flavored water all the time also :) or if i have the occasional cola it is most definatly DIET ( but i try not to have cola at all ) i found my 1st week of the diet was the worst......so if my head insisted i HAD to eat i made me a cup of soup in a coffee cup and after 1/2 i was done.....lol anywho , i tend to get a bit long winded..... i so look forward to chatting with you gals off to shake i go :) Angie ( rainenroses ) |
Hey Angie - :wel3fc:
What you're doing is defined as a VLCD...a Very Low Calorie Diet. These are typically not recommended without doctor supervision, as they have lots of side effects and potential complications. Are you being supervised by a physician? You may want to talk to your doctor about your plan to get his/her OK. Anyway, look around, find a spot, and settle in. Can't wait to get to know you better! |
Hi Angie!
I'm in Indiana too! |
hello :)
yes i am under my doctors care. actually i began this diet when i was seeing another dr. about getting the lap band surgery. i had to lose about 11 lbs and see my primary dr once a month for 6 months for my insurance to cover the surgery. after the 6 months though i decided to just stick with my diet and NOT get the surgery. way less invasive that way . So i still see my primary dr. once a month , they check me out and all that. Thanks for the warm welsome btw :) think i will check out some of the places before i settle in though :) maybe the 30's board may be the thing...who knows Angie (rainenroses ) |
