I've just joined 3fatchicks, and thought I should introduce myself. So here goes :-)
I'm turning 27 in a couple of weeks, and am a full-time student, having returned to university after 7 years in the workforce. I'm now surrounded daily by 18 and 19 year olds who make me feel very large in comparison. Further to this, I have various health concerns like IBS that would benefit from my losing weight. My husband and I also plan to start trying for our first baby this year, and I want to be in optimal health to do that.
My current weight is 168lbs, and I would ideally like to get down to about 140lbs. I'm 5'7. When I got married in 2005, I was 130lbs, but it was the result of serious diet and intense exercise (about 3 hours a day) .. something that wasn't sustainable. What I want is a lifestyle that means I can still have a life, but also be happy and healthy at a better weight.
Soon after my wedding, I broke 5 bones in my foot. This lead to decreased activity, and an eventual weight gain
. This has crept up and up until where I am now. Just to make things more fun, I am also wheat/lactose intolerant so the whole diet bit is a little harder at times too.Anyway, hello everyone. I hope that this journey is a successful one!
