Introducing the Queen!

Hello. The name's Lissa. I am seventeen years old and a freshman in college.

I am hoping to move to Colorado permanently in the future, whether it be during my college career or shortly after. I am currently living at home with my mother, father, fourteen-year-old sister, and two cats in Lake Hiawatha, New Jersey. I am heavily involved in two youth groups, one of which I am pursuing an Adult Leadership position when I turn eighteen. I am currently the only college student in my High School Sunday school, and I am not currently allowed in any of the college church activities.

I am hoping to find a career in writing for a Christian Teen audience. I am planning on writing some books, although my main career dreams include a career in writing for Brio Magazine, a magazine written for Christian teen girls. I also hope to be involved in youth ministry on a volunteer basis. I would also love to be involved in adoption by adopting children in addition to having my own. I am currently investigating various freelance writing job offers as a means of earning more money as I search for a full or parttime job position.

I have been writing for fun since I was about six years old. I currently write for a blog that is featured on my church youth group's website. In addition, I have my own personal journals and poetry collection. I have written a number of fanfictions and short stories which are in my personal collection or posted on Fanfiction.net.

In addition to writing, I also have a love for singing and the electric violin. I played the violin when I was in fourth grade, and I plan on relearning how to play when I am able to get the strings replaced and an amplifier for the orange electric violin I purchased.

I just started the Weight Watchers program a couple days ago, and so far it's been working out well for me. I'm hoping to lose a little under 60 pounds in all. My entire family is overweight (both parents are obese). My friend and I are doing Weight Watchers together, so hopefully we will be able to stick to it. I decided to join here for extra support and advice.

Hello there, Lissa. How lovely to see some royalty... :queen: I'm wondering the queen of what ;)

:wel3fc:

Since you mentioned, there are some Faith Based support groups that might interest you. There are also a few writing-interest based threads around under General Chatter and Weight Loss Support. I'm a Weight Watchers member and have been for coming up on 2 years now, so I know the program is sustainable if you work it. Keep at it, and those pounds will come off :) There's a Weight Watchers section under Diet Central.

Best of success!

Hi Queen Lissa! Welcome to 3FC! You have a lot going on---I know you can balance it all. We just started a writers thread in General Chatter and you're welcome to join us. That's great you have a friend doing WW with you. Now you have about 60,000 friends on your weight loss journey too!

I was just messin' with ya. When I first read it, it felt like something wasn't right, but I could not put my finger on it! haha. Then I was like, oooooooh! lol.
