I'm sick and tired...

I'm sick and tired of being sick in tired.

Hello. I'm Erin, 28, and live in Michigan. 2008 was a horrible year and I gained 65 lbs (some would say I eat for comfort) the last time I weighted myself. Tomorrow, I will start the first day of improving myself inside and out.
My main goal is 145 lbs but plan on having many short term goals. I have had fitday on my computer for 2 years. I guess it is time to use it.

A bit of weight history
Lowest weight achieved: 148 lbs ~ April 2004 :carrot:
Highest and Current weight: 226.5 lbs :(
Goal weight: 145 lbs :cheer:
Longest time ever sticking to diet or exercise plan: about 2 months..tops

Cheers :D

Hi Erin :)

:wel3fc:

You'll find a lot of support on these boards :) There are groups based on age (like the 20-somethings you may want to check out), and also based on plan (under Diet Central) and even some based on interests.

Take your time, look around & post wherever you feel comfortable.

Best of success!

Welcome Erin! I wish you every success. Lots of us here share/shared your emotions. We're here to do something about it. Post often...it helps to keep you focused.

Hi Erin, I hope you are able to achieve your goals...I would like to suggest something though if you don't mind. I noticed that your lowest weight was 148 and you imply that you only maintained that for 2 months tops...why would you set your goal lower than a previous weight you could not maintain? Why not choose a higher weight and try to maintain that for several months before trying to go lower? Just curious.

Thanks for the greetings everyone.

I set my long term goal as 145 lbs as something to strive for. I was 148 lbs for over a year (2003-2004 ~I had a very active job that allowed me to maintain w/o exercise or dieting). I left my job to move to a university and steadily gained lbs. Whenever I started a diet/workout regime since 2004, it has lasted 2 months tops.

I plan to change this "2 months tops" by not just trying to lose weight for short term satifaction but start a life long healthy lifestyle. If it results in me looking good in a bathing suit and a lift in my self esteem, I'm for it.

Thank you again
