Another Returnie

  • Hi Everyone,
I am another returning past member, I've been lurking the board for about a month now and like so many others I feel it's a new year and time for a new start. I updated my ticker and couldn't believe it, I've reversed my numbers. When I was at my lowest weight in 2007 I had lost 81 lbs and had 54 to go to goal. Today I am down 54 lbs (from my highest in January 2006) and have 81 lbs to go to goal. How depressing, I worked so hard to get the wieght off and it came back so easily.

That pretty much sums up my life. I've been overweight and a yo-yo dieter every since I can remember. I've lost weight best on WW. I haven't gone back yet because money has been tight. I join TOPS and it didn't do much for me. I am attending a weight loss suport group at my Curves. I haven't done well but I'm still going. I did pull out my old WW information and read some of it last night and I started journaling today.

On the up side I am still going to Curves at least 4-5 days a week and doing additiona work outs at home. I am sure that is why I haven't gain back as much last year as have after losing in the past.

I read much more than I post. I get so much inspiration for all your success stories and knowing that so many of you are going through the same struggles.

Thanks in advance for all you support.
  • Sharon - wait wait wait. Hold up a minute.

You gained back 25 pounds, from a total of 81 lost, right? While that's not the BEST, do you realize that you caught yourself after gaining back less than a third of the weight you'd lost? If you hadn't gotten back on track, you could be looking at starting at the beginning, maybe with a few extra pounds to take off. So CONGRATULATE yourself on keeping 2/3 of the weight off, and stop the negative self talk....you are where you are, and there is no use in beating yourself up over not being somewhere different.

You already know your way around, so jump back in. Soon you'll be taking those 25 lbs off, as well as many of their friends. Can't wait to hear more from you soon!
  • back!

What Mandalinn said. You've stopped yourself from regaining all the weight you've taken off. Take a look around at how many women don't accomplish that. What you've done is to dig in your heels & keep off some of the weight instead of putting all of it back on & more.

You've mentioned that you've started journaling again That's great! Keep up the changes. You'll be back down those 25 & then some in no time.

    Best of success!
  • Welcome Sharon!
Mandalinn was correct...you have maintained some impressive success. Congratulations. Personally, I'm at an all time high...but believe that application, focus and work will get me back to a healthier place. It's nice to know I have good company on the journey.
    Best wishes!
  • Thanks ladies for your warm welcome and encouraging words.

Mandalinn, I've checked out your photo's and read your story. How amazing, you are so wise and have accomplished so much for such a young lady. Congratulations, you are an inspirations. I saw some of your recipies on 101 ways to fix chicken, have you considered a healthy cook book? I'm sure it would be great. I'll watch for more recipies.

Faerie, what impressive numbers you are posting. You obviously know what you are doing, I'll watch for your post. Do you have progress or mini goal photo's posted anywhere? I'd love to see them.

Forme, welcome to you too. I've done my share of "all time highs". Your on the right track and in GREAT company here, we're all here for the same journey, some have just reached it before the rest of us. These other ladies have showed us it is possible and we can do it to. Best wishes to you as well.
