New Kid on the Block

Hello People,

I'm Mia. I'm new. I'm 24 years old and 330lbs....my heaviest weight EVER!! It's 2009. My love of 5 years has left me and I am lost at the moment. My New Years resolution is to become healthy. MIND, BODY and SOUL. So, here I am seeking a little support. I have high blood pressure and God knows what else since I am far too paranoid to get a physical, but 2009 is a new year. I have been attempting to diet since I was 6 yrs old. Hopefully, this is my year:) I'm just glad to be here. Most people dont understand the REAL struggle with losing weight. Wish me luck....I have already set things in motion. I'm getting a physical next week, joinging a gym on Monday and keeping a journal. Any other suggestions would be appreciated!! Thanks:D

Hi Mia :)

I began losing weight when I was 24, too. I weighed 331 lbs at my highest known. I understand. Fully & truly.

I'm so happy that you've joined 3FC. You'll find an entire site full of women and men who understand where you're coming from.

Becoming healthy is a large resolution. It's simple, but it's a large task. You may benefit from breaking it down into the tiny steps it requires.

One of the biggest suggestions I would make may only benefit you further down the road, but you may want to keep it in mind.

We are all human, and we all make mistakes. Sometime in the future, you may find yourself faced with the fact that you ate something you didn't really want to, or you didn't make time to exercise. This is not failure. It does not end us. Nor does it mean the end to your resolution. Not if you don't let it. So, if it happens that a few months from now you find yourself faced with similar events... don't wait until the next year to start again. Instead, pick yourself up right then and there and continue your newer, better habits. Repeat as needed. :)

You can do this! Keep at it!

HI MIA! I'm Lucy and Im new too!

My biggest suggestion is to never give up. It's simple advice but one that I hope helps you out. No matter how hard or tempting things get just remind yourself to never give up because the end results will be amazing.

Welcome Mia~ I'm new here and at my top weight too. :( I am very sorry that your love has left you. Feeling lost is understandable, but your focus on moving forward is admirable! I am hopeful that you meet all your goals. This seems to be a wonderful place. I pray that your mind, body and soul are healed in 2009!

Hey Mia, :wel3fc:

We have a wonderful 300+ group here, and also a great forum called the 100 lb club, for those working on or who have lost 100 lbs or more. We also have the 20-somethings for those in that age range.

And congratulations on scheduling the physical. Without knowing where you're starting, its hard to know how far you've come once you get to goal.

Can't wait to get to know you better!
