I am back, again......

  • I used to post here almost 4 years ago now. I was at a high weight of 186lbs

I am now 230lbs that is more then 10lbs a year I have gained. I am only going up. I am now prediabetic, have metabolic resistance, elevated cholesterol. I use a cpap machine as I have "moderate to severe" sleep apnea.
My pants are all tight on me.

    I cant do this anymore.

I dont want to diet. I want to live. So I am not considering this a diet. I am considering this a training. I am going to be slowly training myself to eat healthy, to live healthy.

I hope to get to know a lot of you on my journey.

  • Hi Kathy!

I too was here in 2004 before my wedding. I achieved my goal weight by my wedding (fortunately!) but unfortunately gained it back plus more! I more motivation than ever to get back on track. 2009 is the year of change! No more fad diets, I just want to be healthy. I too have sleep apnea and asthma. I can't even walk up a flight of stairs without being winded. I'm hear with yah! Congrats on your decision to live and get healthy! I'm right here with yah!

  • Welcome Back!
Yea for you. Your posting is a mirror image of my life minus the machine while sleeping. I'm sure I need one too though. All of my labs are elevated in the all the bad parts, so we can be lab buddies. My brother lives in Concord, so I feel your winter pain. We all need a little encouragement now and then, so I hope both of our new starts are just the beginning. Best wishes for a great start from the sunshine state.

  • Hey Kathy -

MANY of us have found that by abandoning the word "diet", we really find out how to make lifelong changes. It's a great mental shift to make.

We have groups here by eating plan, age range, and amount to lose, so look around! You might want to check out the 100 lb club, for those with about 100 lbs or so to lose. Find a spot, settle in, and keep posting. Can't wait to get to know you better!
  • Hi Kathy,

I see your start date isn't until 1-2-09. Is there something incredibly special about that day? Hope to see you around the forum once you start.
  • Welcome back!!

I was just being ornery! Of course it's much easier to have a diet buddy, but remember you are doing this for you, not him...he's not the one using your cpap machine. Good luck Chicky!
