I'm new and just thought I'd say hi here in an introduction.

I hope a little biographical info is okay here. I've been big ever since I was about 7 years old, and got up to 331 lbs. About 3 years ago I lost the "magic 10%" and felt so sick I couldn't work, study, or anything. After a few terrible doctors I found a good one this summer, and was diagnosed with sleep apnea and anemia. I also have an as-yet-undiagnosed female issue, probably PCOS, but I won't know for several months. (My new ob/gyn office requires making appointments 6+ months in advance.)

Treatment for the anemia and sleep apnea has helped me feel better, but it's also changed my metabolism and hormone issues. I'm now gaining weight back even though I exercise tons more than I used to, and having hot flashes and have acne like I'm a teen again. Super fun!

I don't know if I should say this or not, but I often quit weight loss forums because I can't stand people who say that I'm a morally inferior person because I weigh too much, or who tell me that being skinny will solve every problem ever. I hope that doesn't happen this time, and I'll try to bite my tongue more often.

NO people aren't cruel here and there are no judgements. There's even a couple threads specifically for those with PCOS to discuss what's going on in their lives. Hope to see you post more often

I have never come across anybody on this site who said anything but polite and encouraging words. If somebody joins this site, and says anything rude, the lovely moderators deal with it almost instantly:) Welcome to 3FC, no matter what you're going through, we're here for you!

Welcome I am also new to this sight. So here is my first question, what is PCOS? Then secondly, if anybody has anything foul to say about somebody's weight, shame on them, we are all here for the same reason.

PCOS stands for "polycystic ovarian syndrome". I hope I spelled that right.
