New to posting...

Hi everyone, my name is Heather and I am new to the forum. I have been reading posts for a long time but for some reason I have been afraid to post. I know its silly but for some reason it sticks with me. Its like if you say something out loud then its really true. Well I think that I am ready, I know that having support from people that are going through the same thing will help me.

I do have really good family suport. My sister and I live together and we are both working out and eating right. We are doing Weight Watchers right now but are thinking about counting calories instead. Last month we were able to join the ymca and are going about 5 days a week. If you would have told me that a year or even 6 months ago I wouldn't have believed it. I have currently lost 32lbs and am feeling good. I have arthritis really bad in my hips, knees and back so I always thought that working out would hurt more than it would help so imagine my surprise when I started feeling better!:carrot: I still have flair ups to the point of not being able to move, but they happen less frequently and for shorter periods.

Well thats all for now, I hope that I can keep it up. I know that for me I do better when I post and blog.

I hope that you all have a Happy Holiday!!!!

Heather, welcome to 3FC! WTG on your weight loss so far! :carrot: :celebrate: :carrot:
There is a WW forum here at 3FC, or if you decide to check out Calorie Counting, there's a forum for that, too. I also have found some great threads on the 100 lb Club support group lately. If you need any help navigating the boards, just give a shout. Otherwise, just jump in and start posting on any topic that interests you!

If you do come to the Calorie Counters board, there's a group of us that do a challenge about every 8-9 weeks for whatever holiday is in that time frame. Currently, we're working on the CC New Year's Challenge! We're always looking for new friends to join us at any point in the challenges. I hope to see you around the boards. Best of luck to you and your sister on your fitness goals!

:welcome2: to the site Heather! I am glad you felt comfortable enough to post now. Congrats on your loss so far!

I strongly suggest taking some of your YMCA's water aerobics classes to help with your arthritis. I work at a Y in the Aquatics department and there are lots of people who choose water exercise over land exercise and still get a good calorie burn!
