Hi Everyone!!
 
Hey everyone! My name is Leigh-Ann and I'm 25. I was just looking around the web and I came across this website and i think its an absolutely wonderful and supportive place. I've been struggling with my weight for my entire life and since i had my son 5 years ago its become a constant uphill battle to lose weight. I have tried numerous diets and spent rediculous amounts of money. Ive had some success and felt great about myself but then the weight always comes back on and I end up feeling that much worse. I am getting married (second times the charm..hehe) to my amazingly supportive fiancee Peter in Jamaica in September and I really want to not only look but feel beautiful on my wedding day.

Marital Status: Engaged to my best friend Peter

Children/Ages: Gregory-5 and Victoria-9

Occupation: I am a counselor in a group home for developmentally disabled adults

Pets: No pets..but that could change in the near future..i want a puppy!

Hobbies/Interests: I love spending time with my family, going to the beach, spending time with my friends, eating(lol..i didnt gain all this weight on accident!)

Height: i am 5'3

Eye/Hair Color: Brown

Official Starting Date of Weightloss Journey: 11-24-2008

Starting Weight: 185

Goal Weight: 130

Biggest hurdle to overcome in weightloss: Staying on track and not giving up. Oh! and not being a slave to a scale!

Following any specific plan: I am going to go to the gym..really this time!! I am also not going to eat everything in sight just because i am bored and im going to try to drink more water

What is different this time in your weight loss efforts than in the past: I am not going to diet!! i am going to eat less, go to the gym and lose weight because it makes ME feel better about MYSELF!

My Goals:

Big Goal: 55lbs
1st mini Goal: 5 lbs by christmas
2nd Mini Goal: 15 lbs by valentines day

WELCOME WELCOME WELCOME! You sound like someone who might really like the book "Inituitive Eating." I am about half way through the book and there is a thread on this site about the book. It's basically for people who have done every diet they could or are just sick of dieting period. It's a great "non-diet" program that helps you get to your biological weight.

Don't get me wrong, I will want to loose some weight too, but I am really impessed with this book so far. I think I picked it up off of amazon.com for like 6 bucks.
