Newbie!

Hello Everyone!

Well I recently discovered this site, I'm not sure what I was looking for but I'm sure it had to do something with food/calories/weight loss. Hahaha. :D

But ever since I found it, I've been stopping by once or twice a week.

I think its really great how supportive everyone is. So I decided to join.
I fear it may take me some time to figure everything out, but I'm sure it will all be worth it.

Where to start?

Well the other day I found some old journals I kept in a box. Looking through them I realized almost every other month was some "weight goal" written, as well as some ridiculous eating plan.

Well I'm older now and the weight goal is still in progress. I remember being a 7th grader and thinking I was too fat. Man-o-man...what horrible body images us women carrry.

So here we go...to a better start. A better eating style, a more fun and fit me. A toner more energized me.

I know it all takes time and support. A real committment. I hope that joining this will help keep me on track.

Until later...

Have a good one everybody!

It is so funny what you said about body images. I used to think I was heavy when I was in high school. Skinny described the popular stick thin pretty girls in school. I actually thought Donna from "That 70's Show" was fat, that is how bad my perspective was in high school. Now, watching reruns of the show, she is very thin! I was very thin in HS! It makes me sick to think that I used to believe I was heavy then. Now I would give almost anything to be that weight again! I wish America wouldn't put so much pressure on us to be supermodel skinny. I would just like to be a healthy weight again:)

Hello and welcome to all the new girls!

Body image when you are young is something, huh?

I'm a 34 yr old in college and i am constantly amazed at how little most of the young girls are there. It seems like they all wear size 2.
Then i look at my 13 year old who wears a size 5/6 and wonder if she will feel the pressure to be so tiny when she gets a little older.
I mean, she really has like the perfect stacked body right now at 13 and i can't imagine that she will ever be a girl who wears a size 2. I guess she has more of the Donna type body.
And my point is that i think young girls of that body type eventually feel fat because they compare themselves to the tinier girls. It's such a shame.
