Brand New Today!

Hi everyone. I just signed up today after reading the 3 Fat Chicks on a Diet book last night. I've tried using other weight loss websites before, but I just felt like a fat stranger in a sea of people who had the goal of losing only 15-20lbs (I need to lose close to 100lbs). If you only have 15-20lbs to lose, good for you! I'm not trying to knock you. I'm going to try Weight Watchers. I was really encouraged by the section in the book and I want to try something that won't require me to give up completely on foods that I love. I've tried counting points before, but I've never attended meetings. Starting this week, I'm going to attend a meeting in my area. I would really like to make some friends on here and have (and give) support and accountability.

Hi there . . . :wel3fc: . . . so glad you found us, Chickie. We do have some that are struggling with what you and I would call a few pounds but there seem to be a lot more of us with a lot more. You are definitely among friends here.

Have you discovered our very big and active Weight Watchers forum over in the diet Central area, yet?

Welcome!!

I'm new here as well but figured I'd send out a friendly hello & welcome. I'm enjoying the site myself. There's countless information around here, lol.

Good luck! :D

Welcome -- though I'm new, too! I'm a WW member -- been very successful, in fact, but have managed to put on a few pounds, unfortunately. I've not read the Fat Chicks book, though I've certain made my way through others. One I just read, that really resonated with me, the "I'm upset so where is the food" kind of eater, is "Structure House," by Gerard Musante. The author says those of us who eat not for hunger but to deal with emotions have lots of company! And he offers strategies to help. I loved it.

Good luck -- I notice you're the "future" Mrs. Williams. When is the wedding?
