Hey everyone. Totally new to this.

  • Hey Everyone!

So I am like totally new to this. My name is Dee, 20, live in NYC. For a few years now I have been struggling with my weight. I guess most of the time I was always the "chubby" one in the crew, which was and still is extremly hard, especially because it has an affect in my life. I now weigh 160 lbs. (I think thats my heaviest), and my goal is to 115lbs. I guess my biggest problem is not being able to control my cravings and my obsession with junk food. If anyone has any reccomendations or advice I am really open to that.
    Thanks for reading guys <3

    Ciao.
    Dee

  • Can I just start by saying that I don't think 160 is chubby! :-) But it's all about how you feel about yourself. One of the best things to do to try to control cravings, I've found, is drink water, constantly! When I get that hungry/empty feeling, I just drink a glass of water. It gets rid of that feeling without adding any uneeded calories or fat.
  • Hi Dee! Check out the different diet forums on this page and pick one! They are all great and will work if you motivate yourself. Loosing weight really is a mental challange and you have to be ready to give it your all!

I'm new here too but not new to the weight loss challange life! Having my baby girl has made it difficult for me to get back down to what I want to be, but I'm working on it. Find a goal and give it your all!

Good luck and I know you can do it!
  • Welcome Dee!

As Jamie said, there are lots of great places to post here. We've a 20-Somethings group here if you're interested:

Try taking things slowly. One summer I lost 25 pounds by eating a small bag instead a big bag of Doritos every day. There are many ways of tweaking your daily intake.

  • If you have a sweet tooth, fruit helps curb it!
Savory? Good fats like almonds or olives are good picks.
Keep healthy snacks around and you wont have any choice but to eat healthy!
    Good luck!
