Here I am...
I only found this site yesterday. I have only been reading some of the other intros. I'm still trying to figure out where I will fit in the best. So I'll give you a little info about myself and history and then you ladies can help me find my way.
I am 32. I have 3 kids (which I homeschool) and a supportive husband of 10 years. He and I are both heavier than we want to be. My "lightbulb moment" came in phases...LOL I realized that I am heavier than my dad and both my brothers... I realized that friends around me are losing wieght and my automatic response was to call them a bad name (lovingly of course) and blame them because "I am finding all of it for you."... then realized that I currently am at my husband's goal wieght!!! This has been an ever slow creeping weight gain which really started gaining momentum about 2 years ago. 11 years ago when I met my husband, I averaged 115-120. I had a tubal ligation after the birth of our last child (and was told several years later that this may have some effect on my wieght- not sure though if that is just an excuse to be lazy). My biggest obsticle though is an UNDER ACTIVE THYROID-diagnosed about 3 years ago. I am still battling and wondering when the weight will stop gaining on me. At this point I'd even be happy if I could just NOT GAIN anymore... well ok not happy really but I could handle that better than gaining each week. I take meds everyday for my thyroid - I've researched so many foods and found one study will say negative things about how a certain food will react in my system while still another study will say how great it would be... :?: I would like to get back to where I was before children... however I know this would not be healthy for me. So I'll settle for the midpoint. If I could loose 50-60 pounds... I think I'd be pretty pleased with myself. I'm looking forward to hearing from you ladies and hoping that through you I too will find the motivation and extra support I need to get to a healthier happier me... |
Hi there Fancydancingfeet!
:wel3fc: So glad you've found us :D The first place I think you may want to check out is Dieting with Obstacles. There you may be able to connect with others who are facing issues that make losing weight medically difficult. However, please look around, you may enjoy the 30-somethings or other groups of chicks supporting eachother :) Post wherever you're comfortable! You can do this!!! |
:cheer3::welcome::cheer2:
You can do it! :cheer: :goodluck: |
