Lurker turned poster saying hello
I've lurked the boards here for quite a while, just to get a feel for it. My name is Thelma, and I'm an 18 year old girl from central Indiana. I've struggled with my weight my entire life, quite literally, and while my life is relatively short compared to many, I'm sure many can also understand how hard it is to be overweight/obese at a young age.
I was 286 at my highest weight and I had a doctor tell me in early 2007 that I was borderline diabetic. This freaked me out so I started eating a lot of salad and grilled chicken, and 30 lbs just fell off, and then I tried Medifast early this year, lost 30 more, but I can't do it anymore, I've tried. The soy breaks me out horribly, and I get to be really tired and nonchalant about everything, so I'm going to start counting calories/eating better. After I went off Medifast I did that to maintain, and I even lost a couple pounds, so I know it works well for me. :) Anyways, I blab too much, hello! |
Welcome, and congrats on your loss so far! Hope we can be of help here :)

First of all, congratulations on your progress so far :) It's marvelous! I've been overweight/obese my entire life, as well. We all understand the difficulty in losing weight. You may be interested in the Calorie Counters area or the 20-somethings, because although you aren't quite 20-something, you'll be able to connect with others closer to your age that share your struggles & obstacles. Keep up the great work! :cheer3: |
