There's lots of great support and advice and inspiring stories here.

Welcome, Jenn! I hear ya...it is so easy to let our own needs slide when we care for others. But we are here to support each other! You'll do great.

Hi All,
My name is Amanda! I am 23 and ready to lose some weight and I have finally decided I need some support!!! I have lost 10lbs on my own in the past 2 months. I don't have any children, but I have been married for 2 years. I weigh 175lbs currently and my husband weights 144. While I have always been bigger than him, some days bother me more than others!!

Looking forward to the support and being here long enough to get a cool weight loss signature.

Hi All! My name is Tiffany and I am 23 years old and just had my second child in July. I joined the Air Force when I was 18 and met my husband shortly after. I served my four years and seperated last August. I weighed 128 lbs when I joined the AF and since then I have gained about 50 lbs. I started the South Beach diet about 3 1/2 weeks ago weighing 178 lb. I am down to 172 lbs. but I seem to have hit a wall ALREADY. I am getting frustrated and feel as though I want to give up or switch diets. I would like to loose about 40 lbs total brining my weight to around 138. Are there any tips you guys have as far as the diet part goes? I have been browsing around trying how to send messages and post things and looking at pictures and this has all been a big motivation. I would like to hear from some people and see what types of things work and dont work. Thank you

:welcome3: to all of you.

There is so much support here, i hope you all find as comfortable as i did to jump on in and start the path to a newer you.

Tiffany - I too was on the southbeach diet, but for me, i always gain back all the weight i loose. The fundementals to the diet i think are very good. Teaching the correct way to eat. It is just not always plausable to do so. especiallyu when the deit is so restrictive in the begining. I turned to Calorie Counting. It is more relaxed for me. It allows me to eat whatever i want as long as i am in my calorie range for the day. I now tend to find myself making better food choices because i want to get the most food for my calories so i eat healthier to get that. You can check out the forums (there is one for the South Beach Diet too) and learn all about ways to help you.

I wish you all well on your journeys and can't wait to get to know you guys better.

Thank you for your support and input. I am finding the South Beach a little annoying at times. I am open to try anything. How does calorie counting work how much have you lost>?

Hi, I am new to this site and not quite sure how it works. I was reading you post and found that I also am trying to count calories. Im not doing very well. If you dont mind, do you have any advise?

Hi Amanda, Tiffany and Pancha!! Welcome to you

There are forums for each type of diet...here's the link to Calorie Counters (which includes a great faq):
