Hello :) Looking for support and advice!
Hi guys,
This forum looks like a great place! I want to start eating healthy and exercising again. I was pretty good before the summer started and then my boyfriend moved in and everything went to **** and I gained back the 10 lbs I had lost plus 2 more. :rolleyes: Now he's back at his school so I want to resume that and in the future work on being healthy when he's around, lol. Anyhow, my name is Kelly and I am a 21 year old graphic design student. I currently am 5'10" and weigh 239 lbs. I have a pretty big frame and people often tell me I don't look like I weigh that much, which is nice. I'd like ultimately to weigh 170lbs or so but right now my goal is to get down to 200 lbs! :D I just started classes and I am having a hard time convincing myself I need to go to the gym. Sooo, just going to hang out around here and get inspire hopefully. Those before and after pictures in the one forum are AMAZING! So yeah, nice meeting you all and hope to stick around! Thanks :) |

I know how busy you must be with school. Just think how good you'll feel if you make time for the gym, time for YOU. Glad you have joined us. |

I know what you mean about trying to fit the gym in with school. It's tough here, too with teaching, a family and all that needs to be done. Do what you can and set realistic goals, but reach for it! |

:wel3fc: You may like to check out the 20-somethings area, or the Exercise section to help get motivated to start going to the gym. However, it may help out to schedule in your gym time. If you make it an appointment, you'll be less likely to break it. Best of success! |

I was thinking of getting warmed up with some at home DDR for a week or so before hitting the gym. Have you guys experienced it as a form of aerobic exercise? Do you think it's good enough or should I hit the treadmill at the gym? It's funny that I don't go to the gym so much because it's such a long walk to get to from this side of campus, lol, like, what?! I don't want to walk to the gym to... walk at the gym, haha. We have reaaaaaaally bad winters here so right now it doesn't make sense but I think it will really hurt me come december on. |
Kelbrina - Whatever gets you moving for a good amount of time, even if it's DDR :) is good. I think that you may want to switch it up and hit the gym, too, though, so your body doesn't get used to just one thing.
Walking to the gym to walk at the gym never made sense to me... how about just walking instead? Find a nice route, or a track. During the winter, maybe rely more on the at-home exercises or try to find public transportation to the gym. |
Call me stupid, but I've spent all week trying to figure out where to get those weight trackers in your signatures :) Help?

Kelbrina, you have to be a member for 20 days and make at least 20 posts, I believe--before you can get a sig file. I'm almost there1 Then just click on someone's ticker and it should take you to the ticker site where you can make one for yer ownself :)

Gotcha :) I eventually found a link to the ticker site, 90% of the signatures I clicked on redirect to the main 3fc website, so I was puzzled. But then I found one that didn't hooray!
