Hi, I'm new here and have been looking at all the inspirational people here. It is amazing. I need to get motivated but, I just can't seem to find the drive I need. I have had it many times before but, for some reason, I am so weak right now. I have two beautiful 4yr old twin daughters that really need to have a mom. If I can't get with the program soon, I feel that I will be a burden and embarassment to them and maybe even no longer around.
I know I eat too much and too much of the wrong things. And exercise at this point is almost impossible (being a smoker too doesn't help).
I have done all the diets, pills, liquids, and programs. My battle with weight started in about 5th grade and I am now 40.
I would just like to find out in general what things are working for people who have had the same lifelong battle as I.
Thanks for any advice you can offer.
I don't know if this will help, when I started my latest diet, I decided that nothing was going to stop me. Everything hinges on me losing weight, there for it is first and foremost in my life right.
Two sentences have actually really helped me. I believe I needed to change my thinking I stopped saying, "I have to lose weight "or "I need to lose weight." I now say, "I WANT to lose weight" and "I am 100% committed to being healthy and losing weight."
hey another mom here I've just started on my journey recently and I just started actually reading what serving sizes are and watching what I drank... pepsi is a total weakness for me... the best thing I found was when someone here pointed me to thedailyplate it really helps me keep on track
one more thing that really helps... Sucess is not measured by how many times you fall... it's getting up one more time than when you do fall... YOU CAN DO IT !!!
I just wrote this long message in response to this post and my computer went dead and now I am starting over. So I will just give the short of it.
I had a baby a year ago. I have lost almost 50 pounds since I had him, but really worked hard the last four months and lost 30. I do an at-home weight watchers program. I don't pay anyone. I just do it at home and got the info from friends. I love the way I feel in my body these days. I feel beautiful and know that I am a better mom now because I can keep up with my little one. I think that your two little girls is a wonderful inspiration.
I jog every day that I don't play softball. Rarely does a day go by that I don't exercise. Some of the benefits that I didn't even think about when I wanted to start eating healthier was that my skin looks so much better, and my hair.
You can do this. You so deserve it! Just take it a day at a time. Don't give up. You have more than enough support here.
