Red face I think i've finally got the motivation to do this!

Howdy y'all, the name is Miranda How's it goin? I think this site is what i need because i suck at food diaries, i lose em after a week and then i just dont care any more. But i can get on here while i religiously check my myspace lol.

Little background for ya:
I've been really sedentary since my daddy decided to pack up and move us to New Mexico from Deep East Texas 6 years ago(yeah, major culture shock). Mostly because i didnt know a soul and became shy because of that so i didnt do softball and soccer and cheer leading like i did back home. And ive slowly ballooned up to 237 pounds, I'll be 18 in december and i'm plannin on goin back home in 1-2 years, so i decided i need to start gettin healthy now so can be healthy and look good when i do. I may be young but i have tried almost every diet plan, talked my mom in to buying every diet pill, piece of exercise equipment and work-out tape i saw on tv or the web. Hey trial and error proved some good though. But i know that the only way to lose the weight is to :WARNING: NEXT GROUP OF WORDS MAY BE SHOCKING(they were to me anyway lol) Eat right and exercise. Gosh thats all it takes man i might oughta try that, and i did and i lost weight. Only 40 pounds but that was awesome to me cuz i was 15 and at 120lbs right then(which was the weight i was in 6th grade! Yay Me!). Then i thought well since look good now i can eat whatever i want and not gain back the weight because one cant possibly gain all that weight back all that quick. Needless to say, Big Mistake Y'all! So i just kept gaining and losing and was on a major yoyo ride. So i gave up. Now i think i'm ready to say bye-bye to this fat once and for all!
My main problems are fast food...I'm addicted, Coke and salty stuff i'm not a big sweets person. I'll take potato chips over a snickers bar any day.

I totally know thats a lot of readin dont if ya cant lol and i never intended to type that much...i got carried away what can i say?

Hi there MIRANDA . . . . . . so glad you found us, Chickie. the support and ecouragement around here is amazing.

Sounds like you are off to a good start and have a handle on the problem . . . now just step away from the fast food and especially those potato chips and candy bars as much as you possibly can and you will shrink down in no time.

BTW, I heard on the news this morning that Texas was about to get hit by Hurricane Dolly . . . got my that it will be a fairly gentle storm.

Miranda, Welcome - This is a great place to get support and find solutions. I really understand about the fast food cravings. Have not had Mc Dees in over a month (and for me that's a long time!). YOU CAN DO IT!
